SMITHFIELD, R.I. – ADI Energy, an energy services provider, was awarded a $1.6 million task order by the US Army Corps of Engineers to implement energy efficiency upgrades for the US Army Corps of Engineers Civil Works Albuquerque District. Infrastructure upgrades will be installed in 45 buildings on seven dam sites located throughout New Mexico and Colorado. These much needed improvements will decrease the energy consumption by 27%, increase the reliability of their mission operations, and streamline operations and maintenance.
The scope of work includes lighting upgrades, energy management controls and HVAC improvements. The significant lighting upgrade includes both indoor and outdoor LED lighting improvements at all seven locations. In addition to reducing the lamp stock type by 50%, this lighting design reduces the overall energy consumption requirements without compromising security level lighting for the locations. At various locations, existing space heating systems will by upgraded with temperature controls. At the Abiquiu Dam, ADI will upgrade various mechanical systems including the installation of a new furnace, a boiler and a high-efficiency ductless split system installation in the Administration Building/Visitor’s Center.
The Albuquerque District Civil Works responsibilities include water resource development activities including flood risk management, recreation, infrastructure and environmental stewardship.
